Why does the Trinity Broadcast Network say that if you give them money, God will give you prosperity?
I am actually being serious and not trying to be a smart a**. I am religious and I totally get that churches need money to function, but I have never heard a priest or any other sort of minister practically guarantee prosperity if I give to the church. Why does the TBN promote this message, and do you think their message is right?

Because religious folk tend to be very gullible.
Hey, just like the existence of god, you can’t PROVE it’s not true, right? so that’s reason enough to believe it, right?

What Trolley said.
they want your money to pay for their big houses and nice cars. i dont trust priests and pastors on tv!
Well I am not sure if they say “if you give THEM money”.
But if you tithe, give 10% of what you earn away to people that need it more then you. The Bible says you will receive it back 10 fold.
It doesn’t say that you will receive back 10 fold in money but in prosperity.
They are preaching a false doctrine designed to fleece the flock and enrich the TBN and it’s apostate preachers.
I wish they wouldn’t do that, because too many people get the wrong idea. First, God promises blessings for the generous, but He doesn’t promise that these blessings will be money. Secondly, a lot depends on the attitude of the giver. Those who give out of greed, hoping to cash in on the blessing, won’t receive it.
Because there are millions of naive, ignorant, and stupid people who can believe such a thing. The proof of what I stated is that Trinity has been on the air for years, supported of course by those millions I just described ….there is no shortage of ignorance in the world
They are part of the Prosperity Gospel Movement which teaches many false things. Don’t give them your time or your money. They preach falsely that God is more interested in our monetary prosperity than in our spiritual well-being. They misread scripture and twist its meaning to deceive people into parting with their money. The people who become prosperous monetarily in this organization are those at the top who do the preaching. It doesn’t work for the followers of this teaching yet they are too brainwashed to see that.
God tells us that He will supply our needs if we make them known to Him. The teaching to which you refer is a gospel of greed not of need.
Have you seen their fancy headquarters in Fountain Valley, CA? Somebody has to pay the bills and it’s not Pat Robertson.
Prosperity Gospel, bunch of garbage. Jesus wants us to be cheerful givers.
2 Corinthians 9:7
So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.
Take that money and buy some food for a homeless shelter. Buy some blankets or food for the local animal shelter. Donate money to the American Cancer Society… but PLEASE don’t send money to those hokey tv ministries. They are tax-exempt CORPORATIONS, and they will promise you anything to get your Visa card number. I promise you, the minister isn’t driving a 1987 Dodge Dart.
You can do good deeds on your own, without the help of some slick middleman.
Because they are probably less than worthy of it and use it with the trust that gullible people will buy into it.
What I personally think is sick is that people who pull that junk… many of the gullible may also be the most desperate and willing to try anything, including sending their last dollars to televangelists, in the hopes their financial troubles will be helped. Which in turn they likely probably see no improvement at all and now they just had their last dollars suckered away from them.
It says in the bible to give and you shall receive, among many other things about giving. To people who are skeptical about giving to church I say this:
There is a great need for assistance for people all around the world, in large ways and small ways. When you give to the church, it not only expands the ministry, but it goes to help people. So if you don’t like the idea of giving to the church, then why don’t you start collecting funds yourself, and help some people. If you’re worried about helping people, that is.
A works based ministry wont go far without works. I don’t want to speak badly of other Christians but be ware of false doctrines. Search the Scripture for confirmation on what they are saying.
There is always a grain of truth to what TBN says. But its only a grain.
T.B.N. is a house of thieves. I use to watch it until I woke up from their deceit. Another false teaching being spread by many so called ” churches ” are stating that if you give money, God will make you rich. That is false teaching. They are tricking the people through peoples own greed for money. Using it also as a fear tactic. The bottom line is you financially support what you believe in. You like the playstation platform, you support with your purchase of the product. You would not support something that is no good or falsely making claims about itself would you?
And yes T.B.N. is wrong for using such methods, it is not scriptural at all. Remember that they are only a carrier of churches that want to expand, and only the churches with money are shown on their network. For them ” Behind The Scenes ” it is all about the Money.
The meaning to give money to TBN is not the intent to get something in return, but to give to god. They may be using the money in a bad way or good way, but all the matters is what you feel in giving to the lord. The lord knows what ur intentions are and he will award you. For in the bible it does say “if you give u will recieve” or something like that. my mom watches TBN and i do belive they r doin good for the lord. They probably do use some money to stay broadcasted, but the real reason u give is to show ur devotion to the god who died for our sins. XD~~~ayayayaa
God doesn’t charge for his services. Anyone who does isn’t likely to be working for him.
