Be Prepared for Prosperity

“Be prepared” isn’t just a scout motto, it is good feng shui, too. In scouting, you are prepared for basic survival in the wilds. In feng shui, when you are prepared for predictable eventualities, it gives you a sense of comfort and self care that translates into prosperity consciousness.

For example, the basic feng shui “rule” to replace light bulbs within 24 hours is much easier to follow when you have a cabinet that is stocked with all the types of bulbs you use in your home. When a special trip to the hardware store is required, chances of quick replacement recede.

This means every time you pass the area that is not lighted, it can be a hazard and certainly an annoyance. Your inner Perfectionist gets to shake its finger at you and say “You haven’t taken care of this, yet.”

The underlying message is “other parts of your life, other people, your work, are far more important than your safety and comfort.” This is poverty consciousness.

To maintain a strong sense of prosperity consciousness, there are several other items to keep on hand, as well. Batteries for : cordless phones, micro-cassette recorders, clocks, timers, razors and other portable electronics.

Bath consumables like soap, shampoo, toilet paper, razors or razor blades, floss, tooth paste, mouth wash, deodorant, cosmetics, and especially replacement tooth brushes makes you feel well nurtured when all you need to do to replace an item is open a cabinet.

Back up stock of cleaning supplies like vacuum cleaner bags and cleaning products including laundry detergent and fabric softeners makes your life far easier than a special trip to the store when you’re ready to use any of the above. And it makes you feel well provided for.

Office supplies like your favorite papers, post-it notes, replacement ink cartridges, stamps, mailing envelopes and package tape on hand means you can easily complete tasks 100% — rather than 98%.

2% incompletion may seem small. However, its’ power to irritate and take attention away from other tasks is immense. When it is easy to complete a task 100% the first time you give it your attention, your life has a sense of comfortable flow – a feng shui ideal.

Gas for your car: it gives you peace of mind to fill your car when it still has a quarter of a tank. Peace of mind equals prosperity consciousness.

On the other hand, it is an act of prosperity consciousness to give this stuff away:
• Dusty hotel giveaway shampoos, creams, and soaps
• Samples and “Gifts with purchase” perfumes, potions, and cosmetics that you would not choose to purchase
• Partially used products that have been replaced by a more favored brand.

When you let go of such things, the prevailing feeling is “I can always afford to purchase the items I prefer.” Such thoughts and feelings breed fresh, deeper, and constant prosperity.
