@JohnPiper because through a Catholic Priest Jesus Himself turns an ordinary wafer into His own flesh and turns the wine into His own blood. Jesus said, “he who eats my bread and drinks my blood has life in him”. The substance of the wafer and wine are no longer wafer and wine even though the material of wafer and wine exists the substance changes.
@PaulBennett36 — I am concerned PaulBennett36. How does one taking physical matter into their body bring about a closeness with Christ when Christ says “One must be born again by the Spirit above in order to inherit the Kingdom of God.” (John 3:1-15). My concern is for you soul Paul. I am afraid you have put your faith in an action and physical matter over Christ Himself. No one can gain a closeness by deeds, only by a sincere love from the heart in obedience to Christ. (John 14 and 15).

If only all commenters here could receive Jesus in The Blessed Eucharist in the Catholic Church because then you can be so close to Jesus that you are absorbed into Jesus. You can only receive Jesus in the blessed Eucharist if you are in a state of grace. Oh how much more grace you will have and how much more the eyes of your soul will be opened and how much stronger you will be to fight the good fight for Our Lord Jesus Christ!

I had anxiety attacks because I saw no reason to live if Hell was true. If an eternal hell was so real then it would mean most of my family and good chunk of my friends was on their way there, and it was my job to preach and pray for them to save them 24/7. The responsibility was overwhelming and the thought of this being true was terrifying. I was in a deep depression, and went through literal hell, inside of my mind.
Glorious he is and he has changed my life and i praise God for giving us such wise men as John Piper to lead us down this path of Love and all things righteous that will lead to eternal life

I had two friends die in a car crash recently and their parents took it really hard. And it would have been amazing if they would have said that God is enough because God should be enough. And He is. :)
