i can tell you have never been raped and forced to bare a child to an unwelcome world
or been knocked up by someone who took a walk leaving you and your child to face a life of poverty and judgment or forced to carry a child full term even though it died in the womb
[I call it the Turin test]
[Not the Turing test]
Had my head in circles
I didn’t know children = fetus was no longer a debate. Some people might even say eggs from a women or sperm from a man or both together are sacred. If that’s the case I offer millions of children to Baal, everytime I have sex.
You assume fetuses = children, fine I’ll go with your perspective. But abortions don’t always bring your idea of convenience and prosperity. What, you think after abortions a girl will continue to live in bliss and become succesful? You should read up on what happens to rape victims as they try to get on with their lives. Serious mental problems.
You make assumptions which is fine, but you don’t challenge your assumptions. I never did like the saying “Never assume” etc. I say always assume AND challenge what you assumed and find out the whole truth. Anyways, So a 12 year old girl is raped by her father. Still think the girl shouldn’t get an abortion? How bout what if the child is prone to a genetic disease that is incurable due to inbreeding. A life of suffering and inconvenience and shame is set upon both the child and mother. Would it be more “convenient” is she got an abortion. Yeah, for arguably both the child and the mother. But she would still be scarred for life. Rape causes serious mental problems in women. What is wrong with a little convenience for those who have been wronged.
Also if I was Baal, why would I want a bunch of fetuses? Random thought.
analogies are good for providing scale and shock. But usually they don’t provide answers to complicated problems.
Absolutely! We are involved in the massacre of innocence. Just like the people who worshiped their god Baal, making their hideous actions placate their guilt, so the modern day human placates their guilt from never feeling satisfied to the actions of getting rid of pestering interferences of accumulating wealth, power or some sort of comfort….which leads to the hideous action of abortion.
Ephesians 6:12 says, “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” Our enemy in fighting abortion is not the abortionist, the courts or those who are advocating for abortion rights. Our enemy is the one who was a murderer from the beginning – Satan and the spiritual forces under his command.
Throughout history, certain pagan cultures have sacrificed human infants to demons as a part of a complicated ritual in return for favors asked of them.
Few of those involved in abortion today are consciously engaging in child sacrifice, although that is precisely what abortion is – the sacrifice of a human life for the convenience or needs of others. In that respect, it is no less barbaric than the human sacrifice practiced to ensure, for example, a successful harvest. But beyond this, there is a spiritual, satanically inspired dimension that gives frightening realism to abortion’s identification with literal child sacrifice.
Archaeological relics have been uncovered, such as the altars on which children were sacrificed and stone markers, which marked the burial place of the remains. Stone carvings on the markers depict children who were sacrificed. Clay jars were used to hold the remains. Entire burial grounds full of these slaughtered children have been uncovered.
As barbaric as this sounds, we must remember that this is precisely what we do through abortion. With one obvious exception – today we don’t honor or bury the children we kill.
Grow a womb and maybe I’ll give a f–k what you do with it.
Is there also an analogy between that and allowing government to sacrifice your right to choose, good or ill, to the god of popularity? I am not coming down on either side of this debate as my opinion is irrelevant in that it is not my, your or the governments choice to make. The choice belongs to the individual. As do the consequences of making the choice. If you believe convenience and prosperity are the only factors then you need to do some more research. Have you ever seen a crack baby, a raped woman or the results of a child born to a parent who can’t afford proper medical treatment? I have. I have seen these poor children suffer and die or live and suffer even more. It breaks my heart either way.
