Dr. Kevin Nourse to Speak at Seaport Leadership Conference

Nourse Leadership Strategies, a Washington DC-based coaching and organizational consulting firm, was recently selected by the American Association of Port Authorities (AAPA) to speak about leadership at its annual Executive Management Conference in Tampa, FL. The conference theme is Leading Your Seaport to Prosperity and the focus of his presentation will be Leading in Times of Crisis: the Best of Times, the Worst of Times.
Dr. Kevin Nourse, Principal and Founder of Nourse Leadership Strategies, explained, Im so pleased to be invited to speak for the fifth time at the to annual Executive Management Conference. He added, This is a tremendous opportunity to interact with such an enthusiastic group of leaders who are so committed to their own growth and development.
Dr. Nourses presentation will be partly based on the insights gained from two studies he conducted. One study focused on the use of social support by middle managers that thrived during the Hurricane Katrina crisis in 2005. The second study focused on the experiences and mindsets of seaport leaders in identifying, assessing and responding to the global economic crisis that began in 2008. Both of these studies offered compelling evidence for the role that emotional intelligence plays in helping leaders thrive in crisis. Emotional intelligence refers to an array of skills and abilities associated perceiving emotions in oneself and others, as well as the ability to consciously manage these emotions.
Nourse Leadership Strategies is an executive coaching and organizational consulting firm that focuses on helping leaders, teams, and organizations thrive.
