The Two Biggest Barriers to Abundance
A lot has been written about the power of positive thinking. It’s definitely something I’m a big fan of – what you think about you get right? Well, maybe not…
To sit and dream of riches all day is useless without positive action. Positive action is so vital that without it your dreams won’t come true. If you want to run a marathon and see yourself at the finishing line every day for a month then great, but unless you go out and train for it no amount of positive thinking affirmations will run the marathon for you. This sounds obvious but you’d be surprised how many people try to manifest abundance thinking it will just fall into their lap without actually doing any work.
When you’re on the right track the ‘work’ is enjoyable and effortless and goes hand in hand with positive thinking affirmations. There is a law of the universe called the law of least effort but some people think this law is an excuse to sit back, think and let the higher self give them everything they need on a plate but it doesn’t work like that.
Positive action is empowering. To dream up a business idea then put in the necessary effort to achieve that dream is one of the most rewarding things you can ever do for yourself. Positive action rides on the back of positive thinking affirmations if you like: You think, you do, you get.
Enough said about positive action, what happens if you don’t really believe in your positive thinking affirmation? If you don’t believe then not only does work become a chore the affirmation won’t work. If you don’t really, deep down believe that you’ll get what you’re affirming you’ll get what you really believe in, if you believe that all rich men are untrustworthy then how can expect to become rich by affirming you want to be a rich man? If your affirmation goes against your own beliefs your own beliefs will always win through because they are deeply rooted in the subconscious and the subconscious mind is like our unseen guardian. It protected us in stressful situations in our past by warning us of perceived dangers, then held on to those protective mechanisms. We still listen to and obey these worn out protective mechanisms and they can stop positive thinking affirmations dead in their tracks.
So, if you’ve been using affirmations for a while and not a lot has happened then ask yourself two things:
a.Have you stayed in dreamland too long? You know you can get what you want but you haven’t as yet put in the necessary action.
b.Do you know deep down you don’t really believe you can get what you want?
If you’ve answered yes to both of these then don’t despair. You’re still on the right path. To even want to change your life for the better means you’re heading in the right direction, but maybe you’ve had your blinkers on up until now. If you know you need to take positive action then what’s stopping you – go for it, it’s your dream after all, isn’t it?
If you don’t believe you’ll get what you want then acknowledge that and don’t shy away from it. If you run you’ll never get what you want. You need to go ‘into’ what you’ve learned in the past and get rid of the negative emotion. There are a number of ways to do this and a really successful method to use is called Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT). By tapping with our fingertips on the endings of energy points mainly around the face and neck whilst repeating key phrases about our long held negative beliefs we can release the negative emotion. For some, this seems too good to be true for others who’ve tried EFT it has made a difference. Imagine having a dream and really believing you’ll achieve it 100%. Getting rid of the negative emotions attached to long held beliefs allows for more positive beliefs to grow and they will and so will you.
